The Yorkshire Colourists are a collective of six artists living and working in and around the moorland regions of West Yorkshire. They take their inspiration from landscapes near and far but always seeking out the colour and textures to be found in the rich tapestry of fields, rocky crags, changing light, cloudscapes, mountains, moorlands, rivers and stone walls wherever they may be.  All these elements evoke a variety of vibrant responses from the six artists, and it is this combination of a common love but six distinctly different approaches that makes this group so exciting with a growing reputation.

Exhibiting and working together whether on a joint theme or an individual project is inspiring and fosters camaraderie, friendship and a wealth of ideas

Individually, the artists offer dark brooding moors, tumultuous skies, evocative floating forms, harmonious rolling landscapes, wild and uplifting use of colour together with varying degrees of realism and abstraction in a variety of subjects. Collectively they present a rich body of work that both stimulates and challenges.
